Everyone has a different pain threshold, what may be painless to some may be painful to others. I have never had a client refer to my procedures as painful, more a scratchy sensation that is slightly uncomfortable. I always use 2 anaesthetics the 1st is topical and works after 20 minutes, the 2nd is applied to broken skin and works within a few minutes. I will always strive to minimise any discomfort. Also the digital machine that I use is so state of the art that it in itself minimises discomfort as the needle protrudes at such an amazing speed!
This varies from client to client and depends on many contributing factors, such as smoking, medication, sun exposure (including sunbeds). The pigment normally remains fresh and vibrant for many months and most clients will not require a COLOUR BOOST for 8-12 months, the remains of the pigment can last in the skin for a few years but it's always advisable to return to the clinic for a COLOUR BOOST as soon as you feel that the pigment needs refreshing to keep it looking lovely. This is really down to the clients discretion, some clients return after a few months as they prefer to add colour slowly and others are happy for over a year before returning to my clinic.
A new sterile needle is used for each and every procedure and the environment that each procedure takes place in is always sterile and hygiene is essential and of the utmost importance. A patch test is always carried out prior to every procedure to ensure that no adverse reactions could occur. The mineral based pigments are so natural that a reaction would be extremely unlikely.
Each client has a thorough consultation prior to treatment, which includes ALL relevant medical information, where the shape, colour and desired effect are discussed at length, before and after photos are taken to ensure that the end result is expected and welcomed.
Beauty fx client immediately after her Brow Procedure
Each procedure can take between 1 hour and two hours to complete. My clients are never rushed after a procedure, I want them to have a comfortable and relaxed experience from start to finish! If I predict that your treatment may take any longer, I will advise of this at point of consultation.
Normally no. You should be able to go about your day to day business as normal. After eyeliner you may FEEL swollen but 9 times out of 10 you don't look it. Brows may appear darker and more prominent which is expected, especially for those who have not had brows for many years, so in those cases you can apply clean, uncontaminated new concealer on the area for the 1st week until the pigment has naturally faded. Lip colours will look darker than usual but always fade to a lovely shade, so once again you can disguise it for a week using only clean new products to prevent any cross contamination. In time all procedures heal to perfection, it's a case of all good things come to those who wait!
After care for all procedures
Sandra will always issue vitamin A D aftercare ointment proceeding treatment (excluding eyeliner) that aids the healing process, to take home and advise how to use it at the end of each procedure. The area treated may show redness and swelling and the colour looks dark and intense. This is quite normal, in fact in most cases it important to implant darker pigment as after the healing process is complete it always fades and then heals to your perfect colour. If you go too light, the pigment may not hold as expected thus meaning that the procedure may take several more visits to complete.
Additional treatments cannot be undertaken until the area has completely healed. A 4/6 week healing time is required before anymore work can be undertaken.
The Beauty fx Clinic
If showering within 24 hours please try to avoid the water jets hitting the treated area. Try to avoid the gym, sauna or pool for 24 hours, also do not rub your face with a towel, blot dry for the 1st week.
Once the area has healed , approximately ONE WEEK, consider using a waterproof total sunblock when going out in the sun to stop colour fade as sun is a big contributor to semi-permanent make- ups life span!.
Strong chemicals of Glycolic Acid/Peels of any kind may cause the pigment to lighten - always telephone and check with Sandra if in any doubt.
PLEASE DO NOT pick or pull at the treated area as it will result in pigment loss.
You will initially have colour that will fade within a week, that will heal to form a dusting of skin that will slough away to give you a beautiful natural shade.
